We work overtime for others ~ attending to their needs, paying attention to what is important to them, trying to figure out what we can do to make their worlds a better place to be. But when it comes to giving that same love, affection & attention to ourselves its often put on the backburner as we focus on so many things around us.
At what point will we stop to make ourselves a priority? Not in a self-centered, ego-centric, selfish type of way; but in a self-preserving, fully-accepting and nurturing kind of way.
Self-priority in ways that make us more conscious of the inner-dialogue to make sure that we are not being too hard on ourselves. In ways that make us stop to look at what we've accomplished todate and actually experience personal appreciation for our hard work. In ways that allow us to be in fulfilling relationships with others while remembering not to neglect another very important relationship, which is the one with ourselves.
Its one thing to project an image of acceptance and confidence, and another thing altogether to actually feel the sense of love for who you are, what you've accomplished, while treating yourself with the sort of understanding and appreciation that you give to others.
Today, why not remind yourself that you have found the wisdom in mistakes that have been made; you accept the current circumstances as being yet another step moving you closer to your destiny; and you look forward to being your own greatest support system as you manifest your potential in its entirety.
What Have You Done For You Lately?

So I couldn't help but stare at the wondrous train wreck that was before my eyes as I watched The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 2. It was a horribly magnificent mess and I didn't know whether to laugh at the hilariousness or cover my eyes as the personalities clashed and reality television producers worked their manipulative mastermind tactics, making for great TV.
I was entertained but don't have any concrete opinions just yet of my Thursday night experience but a few ideas come to mind when I reflect on what I saw in the premier of Season 2:
* What is Kandi, the Grammy-winning songwriter doing on there? She's clearly doing well for herself and may not need the extra drama from this reality tv publicity (especially when she'll more than likely have enough drama from the babymamas, God bless her).
* You can take the girl out the hood but can't take the... well, you know. Just ask the Top Level Executive cuz he caught a little bit of that Cleveland action. (See for yourself in the CATFIGHT of the YEAR Vid)
* NeNe's hair is super cute & I hear her book is coming out August 11th. Whats it called, "Never Make the Same Mistake Twice" or something.
* I too want to know what ever happened to customer service.
* Lisa Wu had a baby? Look at her body. Sick. Perfectly sick.
* Who invited Knock-off Barbie back to the show? She's adorable enough in a lazy kind of way but doesn't a housewife need a husband, or a boyfriend at the least?
* and finally, what a pseudo-fabulous southern mess.
Regardless, I'll be tuned in religiously ~ with my unwarranted opinions
posted in my community & hopefully you feel free to share yours too!
We're no spring chickens anymore. So it would seem that each person
would be able to connect with the opposite sex in healthy enough ways
to experience fulfilling relationships. Fact of the matter is, there
are so many problems between men and women that it is more common to
hear of a romance going downhill than you hear of those that are
withstanding the tests of time.
I wonder if people are really experiencing "relationship problems" at all. I doubt it. I suspect whats being experienced are personal problems that are just leaking over into the relationship and of course, someone is getting hurt or neglected or abused or betrayed in the process. But if a person hasn't accomplished internal balance, how do we expect them to be able to bring balance within a partnership?
Instead of trying to figure out whats wrong in the relationship, maybe we should really be evaluating those things that our significant other seems to be struggling with on a personal level and figuring out how those things may be impacting the partnership. And more importantly, we should be figuring out what subconscious emotional and psychological baggage we may be bringing into the situation which could be disrupting the flow of things.
Maybe then we can get to the root of why our connections aren't as strong as the need to be, or as strong as they used to be.
Self included, its just time to be more honest with ourselves and others to get some better loving going on.
We've traveled through various stages of life and have somehow managed to successfully reach adulthood. But many are experiencing some sort of stagnation, a stalemate as if life is no longer full of excitement and the mentality has become all but dismal. If you've noticed that you've lost momentum, are becoming unsatisfied with your existence or find yourself asking the Universe, "now what?"...
Somewhere in our adult lives we find that we do not have that same sort of mentality that we did when we were younger. You remember the time when you believed you could do almost anything. From flying, to creating magic – there were no limits to what you thought you had the ability to accomplish. Of course this was pre-disappointment… pre-heartbreak… pre-failure… pre-setback. It’s a little more difficult these days to have the same hopes and dreams when you feel that you may possibly be let down. The fact is, you are impacted by what you have experienced. Welcome to the post-disappointment stage in life, which brings us to our first new goal.
GOAL #1 – REMEMBER YOURSELF BEFORE THE DISAPPOINTMENT
You must find the ability to reconnect with a part of your life where you did not mind giving it all you had; because it was prior to the time that you started believing you could fail. This is the state of mind from which you will accomplish your greatest goals. You may notice that there are several things you think about doing, but you stop yourself. Why? Because it may not work, you say. What is the use in putting forth the time, energy and effort in something that may not even give you the results you want? Valid question. But what is even more valid is that no one has ever accomplished anything without first recognizing the possibility of failure. They work hard to overcome those odds in order to attain what they desire. As an adult, its okay to acknowledge the possibilities but in order to overcome any paralyzing fear that keeps you from stepping outside of your comfort zone; you will find it helpful to embrace that youthful part of yourself and your mind that imagines you still have the power to accomplish what your heart desires.
GOAL #2 – STOP MAKING EXCUSES & RE-DECLARE YOUR PURPOSE
I’m too old. I’m too fat. I can’t, the kids need me too much. I don’t have enough money. I work long hours. I don’t know anyone that can help me. I didn’t get a degree in that. Pick your favorite. Then throw it out the window because the excuses as to why you’ve not continued to make your life a better place to be, are of no use to you. You are more than likely an individual who has accomplished quite a bit in your life. And now you are ready to move on to experiencing something that will bring a gust of fresh air into your existence. Its time to re-declare what you feel you are here to do and what you want. Its time to re-discover and re-declare what gifts you have to share with others. Its time to do your research to find new and innovative ways that you are able to utilize your natural talents and abilities.
GOAL #3 – FREE YOURSELF FROM THE SUBCONSCIOUS STOPWATCH
Do you feel like there is a little man chasing you with a stopwatch, constantly reminding you that you are running out of time? In the early part of lives, it seemed like we had forever to do what we needed to do. Now there is a different sense that many experience, of not being able to accomplish what is needed before they reach a certain age. What is interesting is that the fixation on time and the idea of running out of it, actually works against us and we end up doing significantly less. Try to remember a point in your life when you were not so restricted by timelines. You went to elementary school everyday – not so much doing the work because you were worried about graduating – but because you knew it was something you needed to do. And besides, there were many great experiences to be had and people you liked were there. Its important to take the same approach as you move through the various projects, professional obligations and personal goals at this point in life too.
GOAL #4 – GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK, ALREADY
Stop being so hard on yourself. The people will already be critical enough of you, they don’t need your help. Somebody has to be in your corner, believing in you, cheering you on… it may as well be YOU! We spend so much time thinking about the should have, could have, would have that we often forget that we still should, can and probably will – just as soon as we uninvite ourselves from our personal pity party. It takes just as much energy to tell yourself that you need to lose weight as it does to tell yourself that you are looking and feeling good at this age. Choose the latter, you’ll love yourself for it more… literally.
GOAL #5 – AFFIRM THAT YOU ARE A ROCK STAR
Even if you really don't want to put in the work to become a bonafide rock star, simply affirm to yourself that you ARE one anyway. Think about when you were a child. Do you remember what it used to feel like when you imagined that you had manifested all of your glory? Do you remember what you always thought you would grow up to be? Someone wonderful, loved and powerful. Its not too late, but first you will have to change your perception of who you are now.
There is nothing wrong with adopting the mentality that you are great. There is nothing wrong with feeling good about yourself and having a self-assured disposition. When you stand in front of a group of people and have to give presentations or even in general conversations where all eyes are on you… don’t shrink and become insecure. On the contrary, make it your show! Love yourself and project that love and others will love you too. Exuding confidence is contagious and those you interact with will believe in your words and vision the same way you do.
Dig deep and find that “S” emblem that you used to wear on your chest. Supermen and Superwomen must rediscover themselves through the eyes of their childhood. Only from this place will there be a rejuvenation of the pure hope and uncut faith that is needed to reach the new goals that you will begin setting for yourself. Move forward with the idea that what you want is already a part of your destiny; and all you must do is travel the path to reach your fortunate future. Start the journey now!

Peace, Love & Success! Chanel LatriceOne of the most difficult things for us to do is to break down the old structures in our minds so that we can create new ones. Why do you need to tear down those old ideas and crystallized programs that you’ve acquired throughout life? The answer is simple, because they’ve been holding you back. You have come to an era in your life where you are no longer forced to rely exclusively on the instructions of others. Now you’ve got the ability to keep what works for you and throw out what doesn’t. We often hold onto useless thoughts and concepts; but just as we sometimes have to delete old files from our hard drive to make room for new and improved applications, we must do the same things with our minds! It’s time to free up some memory upstairs and the first thing one has to be willing to do is to LET GO OF THE OLD STUFF.
LETTING GO is about CLEARING YOUR MIND OF THE PAST and FOCUSING ON THE FUTURE. Before going any further in your day or evening, feel free to take a few moments to visualize yourself enjoying the success and happiness you are working towards in the present – use the gift to project powerful images of yourself into the future.

We have felt safe on American soil (well, with the exception of that whole 9/11 nightmare) for the past few decades. Now with all of the threats from North Korea and the uprisings and unsettled disputes in Iran, it makes me wonder just how much longer we will experience these times of alleged peace. I say alleged because technically we've been fighting in a couple of wars (i.e., Iraq & Afghanastan) but those have seemed so far removed from us, besides the footage that we see presented by the media. Even then, one has to wonder if we are being exposed to the truth or are being shown what we 'need' to see in order to think that everything is going the way its supposed to. There could come a time that we experience the same unrest that is felt in other areas of the world. Perhaps our focus will one day shift from consuming to surviving. I wonder if that day is closer than we think. The President has been in office for about a half of year now. We've long since passed the stage of understanding that he and the rest of the U.S. citizens have ourselves kind of a mess over here with the national debt, the suffering economy, and the opposition of much of the rest of the world. Now we are looking for real change; thing is, we're not sure of what real change looks like or how we are supposed to bring it about. Stalemate?... as other nations begin to devise plans, test nuclear weapons during a time that clearly the great empire is in a vulnerable state. I cannot presume to know what another man is thinking; so I definitely can't presume to know what another nation is up to. All I know is that right now, while I can still experience the freedom to make choices towards my happiness, I'm going to enjoy it ~ because who knows how long we have to be able to enjoy the days of peace.
Armor gets really heavy sometimes. The metal plates strapped to our bodies in a God-forsaken suit that weighs a ton can be alot to try to move around in. It's sweaty on the inside and maneuvering in a normal way with all that heaviness can be too much to deal with.
THE ARMOR is that ridiculous personality we wear to try to project the image that we are JUST FINE, even when we're JUST NOT.
People like to pretend like EVERYTHING IS OKAY when clearly they're on the verge of a breakdown. I'm sure every person has either seen this before or has experienced it themselves. Its the reason we see stories on the news of some GREAT GUY or REALLY SWEET GIRL who wouldn't hurt a fly... until that one day they just flip out and blow up some building or shoot up a school or slay their family or some other psychotic episode that comes so unexpectedly to friends and associates who claim they never saw it coming. Thats because there was some shmantastic armor covering up what was really eating that person up on the inside.
DON'T BE THAT GUY.
Just get it out for God's sake. If we're not having a good day, we should be able to just express that we're not really into putting on the happy face today. If someone does something thats not cool with us, we shouldn't smile through it and try to convince ourselves and others that its fine. Instead of holding in how we really feel when someone says or does something we don't like (whether its with friends, family, at work, school, wherever and with whoever) we gotta find ways to express,
I'M NOT OKAY WITH THAT.
(Or we could just suppress it all until that day we end up on the 5:00 News.)

I love Obama. You love Obama. We all love Obama. And if you didn't before, you do now. And if you don't now, you will later.
And the remainder of us will wonder who we're in love with in the first place and if the wool is being pulled over our eyes; or maybe our vision is just fine. Who knows.
Whatever the case may be...

As an overview of whats been going on in the laboratories of the international pharmaceutical company, apparently they've shipped a product which contains a flu virus that is highly susceptible to becoming airborne. If it were not caught by shipping post test, the virus is so deadly that it could kill 60% of humans infected by it. Company says accident, experts say products tampered with, theorists say biological warfare and/or population control.
